Cannot create Microsoft Works Word Processor Shortcut

I want to create a shortcut for Microsoft Works Word Processor on my desktop, since I use it most often, and I don't want to have to go to the Microsft Works Task Launcher every time I want to create a new document. However, I can't find it anywhere to drag and drop it onto the desktop, nor can I find it when I search. If I search 'Microsoft Works Word Processor' the results come up with documents I have created previously, but not the actual program. Please help me. Thank you.

How do I create a desktop shortcut?

If the item is located on the Start menu:

  1. Click Start. The Start menu appears.
  2. Locate the item in Programs to which you want to create a shortcut. If the item is located on a submenu, go to the submenu.
  3. Right-click the item. A context menu appears.
  4. Click Send To. A submenu appears.
  5. Click Desktop (Create Shortcut). Vista creates a shortcut to the item.

Cheers.

To create a shortcut for Works Word Processor when it does not appear in the Start menu, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Works. There will be an application called WksWP. If you double click it, it should open Works Word Processor. If it does, right click it and click Create Shortcut. It should put it on your desktop and then you can rename it to "Works Word Processor". Be sure NOT to click and drag the file or it will cause the program to stop working.

Expand the Works Task Launcher in the Program listings.

It doesn't appear in Programs. Only Microsoft Works Task Launcher does.
