Hi playdave2003,

When exactly do you get this error message? Is it as soon as you login to your computer or is it during the installation/execution of a program on your computer or is it while installing Windows Updates?

Error code: 1935 - An error occurred during the installation of assembly '[6]'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: [3]. {{assembly interface: [4], function: [5], component: [2]}}

If you’re getting this error message while installing a program, then I would suggest you to remove the existing installation using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility tool and then try re-installing it.

Download Link: Windows Installer Cleanup Utility

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Once you remove all the traces of the existing installation of a program, try re-registering the following dll file.

1.    Click on Start; then click on All Programs.

2.    Click on Accessories. Right click on Command Prompt and run as administrator.

3.    Execute the following command.

MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER

MSIEXEC /REGSERVER

Once you run this, try installing your program again. If you still face the same issue, then upgrade your Windows Installer package to the latest version.

Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f9f4&displaylang=en

Now try installing the program and it should work.

If you are receiving the error code 1935 during the installation of works, student, or Encarta then try the link given below.

You receive an "Error 1935" error message when you try to install Works, Student, or Encarta

Hope this information is helpful.

I am attempting to run an existing program and was able to run it a few weeks ago, but now am getting the error, I do however get an option to repair or remove, I have selected repair several I have vcredist_x64 installed under VC2005SP1STL as well as vcredist_x64 under VC2008SP1, but when I try to run my program, it continues to look for Visual C++ 2005 SP1 ATL Security Update Redistributable Package (x86). When I try to install that, I get the 1935 Error. My server is Windows Server 2008 R2, can anyone help me to resolve this issue?

I am also getting error code 1935 when I try to install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (both 2005 and 2008).

I believe the problem may stem from when I tried to install some software (XTools Pro 6.2.1) without administrator priviledges and it left a residual of the installation somewhere in my system.

Now I can't install this very important software an I'm afraid other software will also fail to install unless I fix this problem.

    Please help,

    Sara
