I've tried various ways of trying to fix from using a back up disc to try and re-install Roxio which didn’t work as it wouldn’t allow up to copy the missing info over?! Have also tried Windows help and support on our PC but is doesn’t come up with any ways to fix this problem after it has searched! ***I have noticed that I think this error is affecting my ability to make changes to pictures in the Windows Photo gallery as it says again, with another error message that the photo gallery is experiencing a problem and cant save changes!I know that the initial error message says "contact the application's support team for more information", but I don’t know who that is as I don’t know why this error has happened or what has caused it (I blame my husband!) or what Roxio is used with or for on my PC!Sorry to sound a little green about all this but only have basic PC skills but am a very quick learner if someone can give me guidance to get this sorted!Would be indeed very much appreciated! Thanks in advance, Lin.***PC running with Windows Vista Home Premium

Hi David

Thanks very much for your help with this, my husband has now stopped the programme from starting up as it was conflicting with a new hard drive that we installed that we didnt realise was the cause!

On the subject of help..... I dont suppose you know what could be wrong with our Windows photo gallery? It still wont let me modify pics (rectify red eye etc)and i dont know why! I have checked the help section and cant seem to find a cause. Dont suppose you have any suggestions??

Thank yuo very much in advance,

Lindsey

I have the same runtime error  problem but with windows XP Pro and Roxio EMC10.  And I never used to before I had to re-install my XP Pro. What is going on with my XP PRO ? When I installed it last, to solve problems, I opted for the latest version. So what is being done to windows XP to make it incompatible with the same Roxio EMC10 that I have been using for years.I am also getting, right with the first error message, a second one: RO625 pure virtual function call.I am not a devleoper. I have no idea why I have visual C++ on my computer or why I get run time error messages if I am not building some program. I am just a person working or trying to work my computer to explore the vast amount of good information on the internet and to keep in touch with penpals. Why would I, an ordinary everyday computer user,  have these problems?

    Hello, Martin

There are different Roxio products the most common in my experience is the CD/DVD burning software.

You should be able to see what you have installed by going to Start, Control Panel, Programs, Programs and Features, then look for the Roxio items installed. You can look on the Roxio website for information regarding their products.

If you do not have the install media for it, and you use the software, you may not want to uninstall it. You can check for a Repair option, select he software and look in the bar just above the list of items, there may be a change or repair button you can press.

If you choose Linda’s suggestion, you can get the cleanup utility at the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/290301

Let us know if this helps.

Hi Linda - Thank you very much fr your time and assistance... The problem is, I dont know what Roxio is for on my PC, or what uses it I mean. I am aware that it is to do with a media file but I didnt install it intentionally so it may have been there from new or added when I have installed other media type software? How do I find out what it works with or for, or am I to assume that its part of Windows Photo Gallery as this is not working properly as I cant modify photos??

    What do you think?

    Thanks

I had this same problem with Roxio and I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit.  After numerous hours spent on the Roxio site and with Dell, trying every solution that was suggested and still receiving the errors. I uninstalled everything on my pc named Roxio and Sonic. Downloaded Windows Install Cleanup and deleted Roxio and all it's partners.  I also deleted the names in the registry and in explorer.  I made another user account and did a clean install of Roxio on that account.  Roxio works perfectly and I haven't had any problems since then.  If you do make another user account, you might need to "share" photos and music you would be using in Roxio.
