Cannot open .pdf, .xlsx or .docx files on Server 2016

Hi team,

I have a problem on one Windows Server STD 2016. a server in question is a virtual machine on Hyper-V and is a Terminal server where cca 40 users work.
For the last 10 days users are experiencing problems when opening .pdf, .docx or .xlsx from D-disk on the server, SHARE folder. It does not affect everyone, a few users randomly. some users can open files and some can't, and next they they can open it and round and round we go.
Problem started appearing after I configured Data Deduplication on D volume on that server. Deduplicaton savings is around 100GB. i have dedup configured on other server and never had any problems with it so i can't say that dedup is the reason.
No alerts in eventvwr.msc. When i log on he server i can open every file.

Does anyone have any suggestion?

    Hi,

    When users cannot open the files, is there any error message? No reaction? Blank screen? Or a warning pop up saying there is no related app to open the file?

    If disabling Data Deduplication, will the issue persist? Have you tried to disable and re-configure Data Deduplication?

    Hi,

    Yes there is an error messege when opening .pdfs.

    The same file that one user can not open other users can open.
    I have turned off dedup but still all files are deduped.
