Errors extracting and burning ISO files.

Hi there,

I recently downloaded Windows 7 Professional from my university elms site, burned the iso in Windows XP Home and installed without any problem whatsoever.

I then downloaded (in Windows 7)  SQL server 2008 Enterprise and SQL server 2005 Developer, tried to burn the ISO (SQL 2008) with Nero 10 Lite and it worked perfectly, when I tried to install it I got a file error in one of the setup files, I brwosed the dvd and in fact the file was there but with a 0 bytes length.

I thought I would save some time by extracting the files from the iso and installing SQL directly from the hard drive and I realized that there were several files damaged that could not be extracted. I thought this must have been a download problem and tried the same with SQL 2005, same problem different files.

I tried extracting with 7-zip and winrar and got the same problem.

Then I tried to go back to the elms site and get the SQL 2008 Developers Edition (just in case the other two files were damaged directly in the source). When the download was over I tried the same routine and again there were errors in the ISO file. I started supecting OS problems so I copied the downloaded file to a usb pen, tried it at work in a Windows XP Professional box and it extracted without any problems and all the files were ok.

Is this a known problem ?

I tried extracting files from an .EXE (XNA) and an .img file and everything seemed to work ok, I'm just experiencing this in large iso files.

Thank you for any help you can provide.
