Does nagling function without MSMQ installed?

I think my last question was too vague and wordy.

On a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium, Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) is not installed.  Does this mean that nagling is off by default?  Or is it still enabled and MSMQ needs to be installed and TCPNoDelay "1" added to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters in order to disable it?

Hi Jonthecomputerguy,

No, Nagling will not function without MSMQ running.

By default, MSMQ (Microsoft Message Queue) sub key doesn’t exist in Windows 7 operating system if MSMQ is not enabled.

TCPNoDelay parameter will not come into play when MSMQ sub key doesn’t exist.

Maybe this question is better suited for the gaming forum since it is commonly an issue related to online games.  Also, why is my icon a blue swastika? lol

Like the title says, Windows 7 does not have MSMQ installed by default.  Adding TCPNoDelay "1" to the MSMQ\parameters key in the registry turns off the nagle algorithm, WHEN MSMQ is running.  So back to my question, is this necessary if MSMQ is not installed?  Does nagling even function without MSMQ running?

Thank you for any input, as there seems to be a lot of confusion about this particular setting.

Thank you for the reply.  However, I think my question wasn't specific enough.  I'm interested in disabling nagling for online games.  I know that it is disabled by adding TCPNoDelay "1" to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters key.

What I want to know is if MSMQ is disabled, do I need to add TCPNoDelay to the registry to disable nagling?  Or is nagling off by default in windows 7, since MSMQ is off by default.

IF someone knows the answer to this, that would be awesome.  It's actually pretty simple but no one seems to know exactly how it works, and a lot of gamers have differing opinions about how to properly configure their PCs for gaming.
