Outlook Express

I've lost the Outlook Express & IE from both My Desktop & Start Menu-even under "All Prorams". They must still be in the system because I can find the folders. I've got IE back on my Start Menu & Desktop. I'm still missing both of them under "All Programs". I need to get at least a shortcut for Outlook, and would like to get them back under "All Programs" if it's possible. (most suggestions I've found for the shortcut are not giving me the "icon", just a shortcut to the program file which doesn't open the program for Outlook) BTW, they seem to have disappeared after downloading a docx doc conversion program

Copy this:

c:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe

Start | Run and Paste it in | OK.

Now go to the Control Panel | Set Program Access and Defaults and set OE as default and then you should have the shortcut.

You can also drag any icon from the Desktop to Start | All Programs and drop it in.

Sorry Bruce. I read the last line wrong. :) It worked. It's just a little weird not seeing all my MS programs under All Programs.

Like I said, you can drag the IE icon to Start | All Programs.

In the Control Panel: Add/Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components. Is Outlook Express checked?

Try this: Right click on the Desktop | New | Shortcut. Browse to *c:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe*. Click Next | Click Finish.  A new shortcut should be on the desktop.

If you still have issues, I would suggest you take this to the System Repair & Recovery forum.

Thank you, Bruce. I appreciate the help. Only problem is somehow everything "Microsoft" is gone from all programs. They still must be in the system because I can "run " them, but all icons & shortcuts are gone. They have also disappeared from "All Programs". IE is the only one I've got back so far.
