I need to burn a DVD in 'Mastered Format".  The Windows Help Forum outlines the following steps to do that:

"1. Insert a writeable CD or DVD into your computer's CD or DVD recorder.
2. In the dialog box that appears, click Burn files to data disc.
3. In the Burn a Disc dialog box, type a name for this disc, and then click Show formatting options.
4. Click Mastered, and then click Next...."<br><br><br> <br><br><br>When I insert a disc, I get neither step 2 or 3, nor can I find a 'Show Formating Option' box/choice anywhere.  I run Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1.<br><br><br> <br><br><br>Any help would be appreciated.<br><br><br> <br><br><br>christian

Hello cedarkey,

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Sorry you are having a problem with this.  What application/program are using or want to use to burn a DVD?  Since you are running Vista Home Premium you would use Windows DVD Maker, unless you are using a third party application.  Have you tried to open Windows DVD Maker on your computer and then insert a DVD?

Please try to use Windows DVD Maker and let us know status.  Thanks!

1. When you've finished adding files and customizing your DVD menus, click<br>Burn.
2. After the DVD disc has been successfully burned, you can do one or more of the following on the<br>Your disc is ready page:<br><br><br><br> To make another copy of the current DVD, remove the completed DVD, insert a new recordable DVD, and then click<br>Make another copy of this disc. <br> --- --- <br> To close Windows DVD Maker, click<br>Close.
