I have a SCSI controller card (Kouwell model 910u) that has a non-supported driver.  is there any way to get a driver that will be supported by windows 7.  if there is no way to get the correct driver are there any SCSI cards that have either a HD50 or HD68 external connectors and are fully supported by windows 7.  if I am unable to get the driver/card that i need I will have to go back to Windows XP.

system info:

ASUS Mother board

AMD FX 57 64 bit processor

4GB ram

4 SATA 500gb HDD's in a RAID 5 configuration

dual EVGA 7800gt video cards

1000 watt power supply

Kouwell 910u SCSI controller Card

2 sony DVD-RW drives, IDE interface

Belkin wireless 802.1 b/g/n wireless card

If any one can help I will greatly apreciate it.

Hello cdav0031,

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

Is your SCSI card compatable with Windows Vista? In most cases if it works in Vista then it should work for Windows 7. I have seen some users on Windows 7 using drivers for XP. Of course I would also verify with the manufactuer of your SCSI card for more details. Please let us know status. Thanks!

  • Internet access (to download Windows 7 RC and get updates)
  • A PC with these system requirements:
  • 1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics processor with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Please note these specifications could change. And, some product features of Windows 7, such as the ability to watch and record live TV or navigation through the use of "touch," may require advanced or additional hardware.

According to Kouwell, the people that make the card, it is vista compatable.  unfortunatly I do not have a coppy of vista to verify that claim.  all I know is that it works with all operating systems from windows 3.1 to windows xp pro and windows server 2003.
