I need to ensure that the services running on my virtual machines are available if a single data center fails.

A solution that I found is: deploy the virtual machines to two or more availability zones, but if I deploy the virtual machines to two or more regions?
Does this meet the goal too?

    Hi,
I think the most accurate answer depends on your definition of a data center. You can check the definitions for Azure and particularly for Availability zone. In your case the VMs will be in different datacenter if put in different availability zones but will be in the same region.
