Error code 80070704

I have Windows 7 (x64) and I can't install ANY printer on my computer. Printers fail to install, windows can't update the drivers, I've tried downloading and installing drivers and software from the printers manufatures homepages and still can't get them to install. I've donde troubleshooting of just about everything on my laptop and nothing works! WHAT IS WRONG? HELP!!!

    I am having this same problem.  I have taken all troubleshooting actions from Windows and Brother, including the link provided above.  I have a Brother HL-3070CW (I believe the 2011 update.)  In Windows Update, I receive the error "Code 80070704 Windows Update encountered an unknown error."  I "Try Again" to no avail.  

    Please advise.

    ·         What is the exact error message you get when you try to install the printer?
