Can't install a program from disc

I am trying to install a program from a disc and it says that I need to be an administrator to install, then stops.  I am the administrator.  How do I fix this in W7?

I tried right click but 'run as admin' is not listed as an option.

Are you right clicking on the disk drive, or the install file? You need to click on the install file.

  1. Insert CD/DVD
  2. Open Windows Explorer- click Start then click Computer.
  3. Within the Windows Explorer window, open the drive that contains the installation files. For example, if they're on a CD or DVD open that drive or the letter of the disc drive.
  4. Within the drive that contains your files, locate either a setup or install file. Right click on this file and click 'run as admin'.

It worked.  I was right clicking on the installer file but with your suggestion i right clicked on the setup  file which worked.  I got confused between the 2 files.

    THANK YOU!!!
