printer activation error code 30

After updating some security software, I can no longer print from internet pages. pop-up says "printer not activated  error code 30".  Other wiindows apps & quickbooks print just fine.  Suggestions?

Hello wineboy,

1.     Did you make any changes to the computer before having this issue?

This issue can be caused if the User account Control is blocking the scripts when you print the pages.

I suggest that you run Internet Explorer as Administrator and check if you have the same issue.

a.     Before you print, Right click on the Internet Explorer and ‘Run as Administrator’

b.     Then try to print from Internet Explorer.

Also disable User Account Control temporarily and check if you have the same issue. You can refer the below link that will give you information on turning off user account control:

    I have one more thing to add to this.

    When I continued to try to print, the default kept going to another printer even after manually setting up the original printer to default.

    Crazy but it happens.
