I had EXACTLT the same problem and found this fix. It worked first time as I did have a duplicate UXCore.dll
THE SOLUTION TO: *"Windows Live Settings [WLSettings.exe] has stopped working"IS HERE:......It is attached as a Reply to the above post because to include it with that would have meant exceeding the maximum 3000 characters, and I couldn't edit the first post to the thread down...It would not have made sense!*****
The Solution to this problem was provided by Forum Member !Firedog, and is contained in his response here extracted in full from the Hotmail Forum and the above thread;
***Quote:****This is the right forum, even though it could be regarded as an installation problem belonging inhttp://windowslivehelp.com/forums.aspx?forumid=a372972e-8e7a-4d85-adc3-a1b43e8c02ecbut of course you should re-post with an appropriate subject.*In the meantime, try this: in Windows Explorer (WinKey+E) navigate to %programfiles%\Windows Live. Once there, conduct a search for uxcore.dll. There may be more than one copy, in different folders. Because you're using a different OS from me, I can't be precise, but you should only have one copy, with version no. 15.4.3502.0922, in the Windows Live\Shared folder. Rename any others - for example in the Installer folder - to uxcore.old, reboot and test.
