We are using Excel 2016 MSI version. Installed office update periodically.

We found that sometime open outlook attached excel files may freeze the excel.

If we save the excel file to somewhere, and check the file properties. It should a security option to Unlock: this file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer.

We found a temp workaround is to sign out the office 365 account from outlook>File tab>Office Account>under User Information>Sign out.
Which will also sign out the office 365 account from Word/Excel, and then everything works fine! Open Outlook attachment or open the "save as" file without unlock.

Anything to fix this? because if we sign out office 365 account from excel/word, we got problem on editing Onedrive files.....

Thanks,
Roy

    Hi
Did this problem only appear in Excel? How about other Office applications?
Did you also install Click-To-Run version Office in the PC?
I suggest you open Excel and go to File- options- Advanced- Uncheck the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE):
If this problem still existed, try to repair Office:
