Hi,

  • Were you able to update your machine without any issues earlier?
  • What does the troubleshooter say when you run the same?
  • Do you run 32-bit machine or 64-bit machine?

Refer the link below to know the same:

**Is my PC running the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows?**

0x800700D8 indicates this version of %1 is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.

Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

Check whether you are downloading the updates for the right version of Operating system that you use.

Download and install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 manually. Here are few articles that might help you to do the same:

**Information about Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2**

**Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)**

**Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)******
