Hello, I am trying to run an online backup service. Their support staff said that my windows xp media edition 2002 task scheduler missing. How do I fix this problem?

Marilyn O - you are "thinking outside the box"...
That would be outside the Microsoft box!
This remedy did not solve the problem because the Task Scheduler is not listed in Services any more. It is missing. Need to understand how to get it back.
