I have a hp deskjet  970cse - the usb out on the printer is broken so I got a cable that plugs into the old school printer cable out to usb into the computer - but I get a "no printer attached" message when the wizard acknowledges the cable - how do I work around this to get my printer to work?

Hi Trudi Brown,

This error message usually occurs if the printer cable is not connected properly.

There is a possibility that the other cable i.e. old school printer cable is defective.

I would suggest that you download and install the latest printer driver from the HP website to eliminate any software issue.

If that does not help then you will need to contact HP for cable replacement or further assistance.
