I am having difficulty with an icon on the ask bar that tell me I have a document pending in the printer queue. There is no document in the queue when I check. This problem affects when I want to print. I have to run troubleshooter to clear the "Phantom" document before my wanted document prints. This problem happens only on the USB connected printer. It does not happen of the networked printer. I am running windows 7 64 bit. Can anyone help me?

Kyoshimike,

Usually you can run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Start, all programs, manufacturer of your printer, your printer, uninstall or start, control panel, programs and features, your printer uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver RemovalThis should give you a fresh start to install the printer.

I have tried that to no avail. I am now finding that when I turn on the computer from the beginning, I am being told there is a "document waiting" in the printer icon. (There is no document in the printer queue when I open it.) I have deleted the printer but when I reinstall it I still get the message there is a document waiting. Is there a way to completely uninstall all reference to this computer then start afresh????

Thanks for your answer. I had downloaded and installed the updated drivers but to no avail. The icon in the system tray show I have a document pending even when I switch the computer on. Can you please advise how I clear this "phantom" document. I have tried the usual way of clearing or cancelling all documents but there is no document to be seen.

    Hi,

This might be an issue if the printer driver is not installed. You may visit the manufacturer’s website download and install the updated driver and check what happens.
