REinstall it, then UNinstall it, instead of "deleting" it.

A program I thought I had deleted keeps trying to initialize when I startup my computer. The message says to go to Add/Remove Programs and delete the program and reinstall it. I can't find any remaining files for this program when I do a search. The message started appearing about 2 weeks ago and the program was deleted about 3 months ago.
