SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers, Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid.

I am running Vista Home Premium, 16-bit. I recently tried to re-install a CAD programme that worked on the system before Service Pack 2 was installed. A message appears reading: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers, Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. The installation is not successful. I have tried adding the VirtualDeviceDriver key into the registry as suggested in this forum for similar problems, but this has not made any difference. Please advise any other solutions.

    Hi,

I would suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps

**Method 1:**Try to uninstall and resinstall the CAD program

**Method 2:**If the issue persists you may also try running the program in compatibility level: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-is-program-compatibility

    Hope this information is helpful.
