Installing SQL Server 2008, getting error regarding PerfMonCounterNotCorruptedCheck

When I install SQL Server 2008 Expression I get following error;

The performance counter registry hive is corrupted. To continue, you must repair the performance counter registry hive. For more information, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300956.

I haven't been able to fix this page and the link don't refer to Vista. Any comment & solution?
