optional updates MISSING!?!? (NOT hidden)

Question

I would really love to know just what ms is doing "under the covers". I'm running win7 SP0 (sp1 is NOT installed - AND NOT EVEN LISTED under updates?????!!!!!!) 64bit pro version.

I JUST installed 2 of 14 optional updates, and rebooted.

run win updates again, and sure enough there are now 12 optional updates. I closed down update window, surfed web a bit, then went back to win update dialog.... and GUESS WHAT!!!

I now have NO optional updates listed!!!!!

I have win update configured to ONLY alert me - NO download, NO install. And my history CONFIRMS I do NOT have any of the other optional updates installed.

SO - just where the ____ did they go??????????????

and yes - after i noticed them missing, i asked update to check for updates again, still no optional updates!!!!????

So where exactly are my optional updates; AND

WHERE EXACTLY IS THE blanking SP1 UPDATE!@!?@?!!?? I JUST saw it & installed it on another installation of win7pro64!!

Thank you for your post.  Were you able to successfully update to SP1?  Keep in mind, that there are prerequisites to SP1 that require installation before you can download or see Service Pack 1 as available for installation.  Please let us know your status so that we can better assist you.

UN-flipping believable.

it took me 15 min. plus interruptions to write last msg. and upon finishing - opened up updates, and NOW OPTIONAL UPDATES HAS RETURNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????@@@@@@@@@@@@############

what the heck kinda games is ms playing???????????

the SP1 update IS STILL MISSINGH!!!!??!?!?!??!
