Azure Migrate RDP connection issue

I have 2 Severs protected by Azure Migrate ready for migration. When I test migration and try and connect to a VM by RDP it fails.

It has a NSG associated and a rule with highest priority
It has a Public IP associated
I have tried all the recommended troubleshooting (redeploying, resetting RDP, recreating NSG etc.) but the error I get when I try to test the RDP connection is 'Network connectivity blocked by security group rule: DefaultRule_DenyAllInBound' so clearly something quirky is happening that the new rule is not being recognised.

I tested by migrating with a NSG already setup and tried again setting one up after migration and also tried recreating one with MS support but same issue.

Any suggestions as it kind of makes Azure migrate useless if this cannot be resolved?

Have you already raised a technical support request with MS support?

On the other hand, you may want to verify few things:

Ensure port 3389 is enabled for RDP access
Check if remote desktop service is running
Check if any firewall or proxy is not blocking RDP connection

Hi, I had already set the networking up to migrate into, so subnets, nsg's etc.
This is not a VM issue, RDP is running as I can bastion to the other server and RDP to the server I want on the same subnet.

I had a session with MS who could not solve the issue and where we deleted the NSG and recreated it and set the rules etc. up but still no connection

When you test with Network watcher its says that the connection is allowed as its setup in the NSG but if you do a test connection from the connect menu it gives this error 'Network connectivity blocked by security group rule: DefaultRule_DenyAllInBound' which implies that the NSG rule setup for RDP is being ignored despite having highest priority

As an added point, the MS support guy asked me to create this forum post and would escalate it as a support request, so far I have heard nothing

@Tristan Maritz (Administrator) This is not an issue is specific to Azure migrate. Because the migration went well post that connecting to the VM through RDP is an issue. That being said, it must be something related to the platform which needs deeper investigation. Could you please share the support request # you raised to contact MS technical support?

The support was raised by chat and I was asked to create this post which I sent the link to him for him to raise a ticket which I thought particularly strange. So I suspect he fobbed me off as he could not solve the issue.
I agree it is not specifically a migrate issue as this setup is pretty standard and simple to create and access servers normally in Azure but the issue has occurred on VM's created by migrate (or more specifically ASR as it was a client based migration).
This particular migration is (supposed to be) a simple one but this is delaying the final migration as its key to the current way of working (will be reviewed in the future but initially its a like for like migration)
