Fun cursors (Example: Cursor Mania)?

Are fun cursors safe to download? I hear good things and bad things about them. I'd like to download the cursors but I hear they may cause my computer to become slow and not perform the say it should. Can someone give me an answer on this? Whether the answer is good or bad, I need to know!
