Pause Between Tracks??

When ripping a song from a CD into a music folder, the silence before the next track is included in the length of the recording. For example, a recording of 3:36 length has 4 secs. of silence before the start of the next track. So the length of this recording (TRACK 1) is shown as 3:40 in the song list that I am going to burn to a CD. If I choose to have a 2-second pause between tracks on the the CD that I want to burn, will the pause between TRACK 1 and TRACK 2 be 2 secs. or 6 secs.? In other words, does Windows Media Player remove the silence at the end of the track before inserting the 2-sec. pause?

AFAIK it burns the track as is.I don't use it for ripping as, well, its just not very good. Freeware exists such as AudioGrabber.

If it does add seconds on to the start of the track (or finish) then the easiest thing is to use an audio editor such as Audacity (again, freeware) to trim the silence off the tracks. This is how I do it, and at the same time you can "normalise" all tracks so that one isn't overly loud compared to the others.

    Cheers,
