SSRS WriteLockSession holding open transactions

Good morning,
We are noticing that on our SQL 2016 SSRS box that we are periodically having some transactions which sit open indefinitely.

It appears that the WriteLockSession is opening, but not closing. (See above image). This doesnt seem to happen for EVERY instance, but only occasionally.

Is this normal behaviour as this is causing our indexing tasks on ReportServer to get stuck and cause blocks.

If this is abnormal, is there a workaround for this?
