How to update meta data in document library using Rest Api

Greetings,

i am using sharepoint 2016 on-prem

Solution Required: I want to update meta data field in Document Library.
I have one document library name 'showdossier' , there is 1 date field name 'applieddate'
I want to update this ''applieddate' fields

Hi @Mohammad Qasim ,

Please make sure the value of type/list name/item id is correct. From the error status, it shows the item not found. If possible, can you print the request log in the network tab?

yes ,record is available to edit , I have checked it.

Can you guide to solve this issue ?

The record is available in the library and could be accessed through UI. but the request URL maybe misformat or navigate to a nonexistent item. So can you please print the request log in NetWork Tab? We need more info about the request and response msg.

I noticed that the list name "artWorkDoc" is different from the metadata type. Can you make a get request to see if it could fetch the item? You can put the URL into browser address box to have a fast get request (must have signed in Sharepoint).

The url you pasted is not correct, it has 2 "http".
