why do i get an error code 2 when installing sql server 2005 express edition service pack 4

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4 . I have tried over 20 times to install this update as requested by windows update . This includes all the helpful hints/advice in the help centre. I have restarted / disabled my AVG security/ windows defender while trying to update so i am now getting a bit angry to say the least as nothing works . I keep getting error code 2 , and the product no is KB2463332 . I am 66 and not very computer literate but i assume that this product has already been downloaded , bu-u-ut it wont , i repeat , wont install, Please --- what do i need to do with this ---or --do i need this product at all --or is thier another product i can use?????????.

  • Are the other updates getting installed successfully?

Try to download and install the update manually and check if you can install it successfully.

    Hi. Sorry about the delay --went on a holiday.  All other updates are installing ok.This one refuses to install , even manually. So what is next---i just dont know , but thanks for the reply ,  ej
