Trying to install AVG Anti-virus programme but the following error message appears:
Error Code: General Internal Error (0xc00706B7)
Additional Message: Driver Installation Failed (0x00000000)

Hi,
As per my research this error message appears if you have traces of previous installation of AVG software.
Download the AVG remover to remove the previous version and then attempt the installation again and check.

Hello,
i get the same error code while trying to install AVG antivirus. There is no chance that there are traces of a previous installation, because i never installed it before.
I only want to install AVG because I was not able to install MS Essentials Antivirus (error code 0x8004FF01). This error code (I googled it of course) said that i have to reinstall Windows Installer 4.5 redistributable, but even this installtion fails.
Please help
I forgot: I am using Windows XP SP3 32-bit
