Windows 7 "backup sets"

After using Windows 7 for several months, I noticed that Backup and Restore had created several "backup sets", which I could selectively delete when I needed to harvest disk space for additional backups.  For the past few months, however, all backups appear to be going into a single "backup set", so I cannot now eliminate older backup sets to recover disk space.  Any ideas?

Hi,

  1. Are you doing file backup or creating a system image backup?

I would suggest you to refer this link and check if it helps:

For more information, refer to this section” How much storage space do I need to backup files” from the below link:

I have set up to backup data and including a system image, on-demand.  I run it approximately weekly.

    Thanks
