Getting Error: Unable to create DirectDraw surface. Make sure that DirectX is installed, and then try again while trying to play Pandora's box
Original title: I can't get Microsoft Pandora's Box to work on my Inspiron 1200
I have been trying to get this game to work for hours now. I keep getting an error that says "Unable to create DirectDraw surface. Make sure that DirectX is installed, and then try again." I have installed DirectX and it still gives me the error. Why isnt it working?

2010-11-09T17:35:35+00:00 Hi Hannabug,
- Which operating system are you using?
- Which version of DirectX did you try to install?
- Are you using a trial version of the game?
This behavior can occur if any of the following conditions are true:
• A Pentium III computer.
• Your monitor is not configured correctly.
• The video driver installed on the computer is incompatible with Microsoft DirectX.
• The video adapter installed in the computer does not meet the minimum hardware requirements necessary to run the game.
Pandora’s Box game appears to be very old and is not compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
If you are using Windows XP, then to resolve this issue, download and install the Pandora's Box Update for the game's English or French version (Pandora10a.exe) or for its Japanese version (PandoraJ10a.exe) from the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/pandorasbox/downloads.htm
Hope this information is helpful.
