Hello everybody,

I work at an institute of a technical university in Germany. We create schedules for our clients in project 2019. We would like to use Visio drawings (also 2019) to label the bars in project. This is possible, but if I want to print the plan, the print view is very different from the side view. It is displayed quite distorted (see the pictures below) and then cannot be printed out properly.
Does anyone know this problem and know a suitable solution?

Thanks in advance!

    How did you label the bars via using Visio darwings?
    Did you add callouts on a drawing in Visio, then drag it into Project to use it as an OLE object?

    • If yes, I test on my environment, the "callouts" shown wrong in the print preview too as following images.

    It's best to refer to article "Show task names next to Gantt chart bars in Project desktop" to add text.

    • If not, please share more information about the related steps.
      I would also suggest you check whether the print preview is normal after select virtual printer "Microsoft to PDF".
      Besdies, please click "Page Setup" on Print interface > Margins, adjust the margins to test this issue.

    @Emily Hua-MSFT

    Thank you very much for your answer,

    yes, I add callouts on a drawing in Visio, then drag it into Project to used it as an OLE object.
    I will describe the exact way how I did it. At first I created the speech bubble with text in MS Visio. Then I added it via "object" -> "create from file" and selected the file that I just created. I also ticked the box to create a Link between the Visio drawing and Project. Then I changed the settings (right click) on the object and under "size/position" I selected "connect to process" (shown in the image). I have also tried other ways, e.g. copy and paste, but it never displayed correctly in the print view.

    I did read the article you refered to, but I couldn't find a solution for my problem.
    And I also tried the print version "Microsoft to PDF" but it looked the same as in normal print version.

    I hope I translated all the thechnical names correctly.

    Thanks in advance!
