Error when accessing CD/DVD from virtual Windows XP within Windows 7

I installed Windows Virtual PC and run Windows XP Mode.

I want to access my CD ROM.

My CD can be read from Windows 7 without any problems.

When I try to read the same CD in the same CD drive but from Windows XP Mode, I get the message error "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows"

It can't be corrupted because this CD can be read under Windows 7 using the same CD ROM.

What is wrong? I installed virtual XP mode and I can't read any CD...

Regards,

Eric

I'd go to Device Manager and check to see if the device driver has a problem.  To do that click Start and right-click My Computer in XP.  Then click Properties and then Device Manager.  If there's an exclamation or question mark next to the CD drive, that's your problem.  If so, you'll need to download and install the proper driver for XP.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.
