Does software exist for creating a 'virtual' network adapter and which will pass all traffic of LAN through proxy server and then by that Adapter?

I access net through LAN and my College requires a proxy for all internet access. If you want to use the internet, it is impossible to not use a proxy. This makes it a problem for many programs that don't seem to let you enter proxy settings.

does any software exist for creating a 'virtual' network adapter which will pass all traffic of lan adapter (or all protocol x traffic) through the proxy?

So that i don't require to enter proxy server any where..and i have a normal direct internet access.

This I have seen is possible with OpenVPN but it is a vpn service which i don't need .i just want to use it functionality .In OpenVPN i just enter my proxy server in its setting then OpenVPN connect to a VPN service and routes all traffic to TAP adapter after which i don't need to put proxy address any where...so my idea is How can i use only the last part i.e. routing all my LAN traffic to a virtual adapter.

LAN---->A software with proxy support----->Virtual adapter---->then i access the net

this is what i like to achieve...

Although I am facing this specific problem on Windows 7, solutions for all operating systems are welcome.

P.S: Proxifier is not my solution so don't suggest anything like that.
