Remote Desktop Printer Redirection

I use Remote Desktop to connect to a remote server. On the Local Resources tab I selected my local printer to be redirected to the remote server but it does not appear on the remote sever. I have no issues with Windows 7 and the redirection works fine. On Windows 8 the printer just never shows up. Clipboard sharing works and I can redirect a usb but the printer just does not show up. Oddly the local fax and Metafile to EPS (which I would rather not redirect) show up as redirected printers but my local printer does not.

Does anyone know how to make this work?

I have the same exact issue.

User connects remotely on server , network drives are redirected and mapped correctly, but default printer not.

Also I noticed that the printer in question is Lexmark X925 and it does not redirect from the Windows 8 machine.

On this machine there is another printer Kyocera which redirects fine.

    Does anyone have a solution?
