Hi Team,

I am working as a SCCM Administrator. I have made a SCCM test lab in Hyper-V environment. I have SCCM, WSUS and SQL configured in one single server. I have configured SUP in the same server and it was successfully configured. I am trying to synchronize the software updates in SCCM but it is not synchronizing properly. Please note that this is the 1st time am trying. I have enabled few classifications and only Windows 1803 product in SUP role. I have attached the WSUSSyncMgr logs. I can see only 2 error messages in the log whenever i ran the synchronization.

Could you please help me to resolve it.

Since you are beginner, I would recommend you to go some step by step guides and compare, have you done averything right? Niall has good stuff https://www.niallbrady.com/2016/01/17/how-can-i-setup-software-updates-in-system-center-configuration-manager-current-branch/ but you can just google sccm software update point step by step and look for other instuctions as well.

There is nothing wrong to have everything in the same box, but remember to use 8530 and 8531 ports for wsus then, because IIS 80 is used for MP then. You also need a lot of ram. At least 4gb for WSUS App pool, but 8 gb more is recommended. https://mivilisnet.wordpress.com/2017/09/28/increase-memory-for-a-stable-wsus-work/

    Hi @Premkumar Nagaiah ,

Agree with yannara. Besides, could we check if a proxy server is used when synchronizing information from the Internet? If so, please obtain authorization to allow Internet access from WSUS to the following list of URLs:

    1.http://.windowsupdate.microsoft.com 2.https://.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
    3.http://.update.microsoft.com 4.https://.update.microsoft.com
    5.http://.windowsupdate.com 6.http://download.windowsupdate.com
    7.https://download.microsoft.com 8.http://
    .download.windowsupdate.com
    9.http://wustat.windows.com 10.http://ntservicepack.microsoft.com
    11.http://go.microsoft.com 12.http://dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com
    13.https://dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com 14. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Thanks for your advice. It's working fine now. I have performed the below troubleshooting steps to get it resolved.

    1. I have unchecked all the classifications and products in SUP configuration.
    2. Performed WSUSUtil reset
    3. Ran the Synchronization manually
    4. Then re-added the classifications and synchronized successfully.

I am having 2 queries regarding WSUSutil reset.

    1. May i know what action WSUSutil reset will perform and how did this reset fixing the sync issue
    2. Is it recommended to reset the WSUSutil in production deployment.
