I signed in to my guest account recently and deleted the desktop shortcuts from there after entering my admin password, but now the icons from those programs are missing thier images, and instead have the picture of a paper with a folded corner with something in the center. how can I restore the missing images?

also, these images were deleted from my admin account desktop too when I removed them from my guest account, however, the icons are not missing, if that helps, thanks.

    Hi,

I would suggest you to try these methods.

    Method 1:

Add the program shortcut from the program files.

    a)     Click on start, click on computer.

    b)     Open Operating system drive.

    c)     Open Program files folder.

    d)     Open the program.

    e)     Right click on program.exe folder (Icon).

    f)      Click on Send to and select desktop.

    Add or delete desktop icons.

    Method 2:

Perform system restore to a system restore point where everything was fine.

    System Restore.

System restore: When you perform System Restore to restore the computer to previous state, programs and updates you installed are removed.
