It worked for XP because the program was written for XP. C-Media have not updated the utility, and until they do, it will not work..

This often happens where the driver is ok but the support software for the device is left behind.

You will have to take it up with C-Media as only they can fix the problem..

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft community!

You've reached the right forum for your question.

    1. Do you receive any error message?
    2. Which application are you using previously for the device while in Windows 7?

Method 1: You may try running the Hardware and Device troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    a. Press Windows Key +R, type Control Panel.

    b. Type troubleshooting in the search bar, click on troubleshooting.

    c. Click on Hardware and Sound, click on Hardware and Devices.

    d. Follow the steps from the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

**Method 2:**You may refer to the computer or device manufacturer website to download and install the latest version of drivers for Windows 8 and check.

    http://www.cmedia.com.tw/en/DownloadCenter_Detail2.aspx

The manufacturer has not released any Win 8 Software/Driver for the device, you may install the drivers/Software in compatibility.

    a. After downloading the driver from the computer manufacturer’s website.

    b. Right-click on the driver and click on ‘properties’.

    c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7 operating system from the drop down.

    d. Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

Please reply with the results. I would be glad to assist you further.
