I've spent hours trying to locate the correct Microsoft Customer Service department to report the following event error. I would appreciate some one pointing me in the right direction....

Microsoft Product: Windows Operating System: Event ID 4621

The COM+ Event System could not remove the EventSystem.EventSubscription object {4FF53C7D-7D44-4AD8-A683-C6CBAB33E417}-{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}-{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}. The HRESULT was 80070005.

Hi,

  1. Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
  2. When do you receive this error message?
  3. What is the make and model of your computer?
  4. Are you able to start your computer to desktop?

You may follow the suggestions and check.

Step 1:

a. Click Start, and then click Run.

b. Type comexp.msc, and then click OK. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.

c. To locate your application, click Component Services, click Computers, click My Computer, and then click COM+ Applications.

d. Right-click the component name, and then click Properties.

e. In the component properties dialog box, click each tab to verify that the required properties are set.

Step 2:

In addition, you can verify that the COM+ operating system component is installed and working properly.

To verify that COM+ is working properly:

a. In the console tree of Component Services, click Services (Local).

b. Scroll through the list of service names to find the following services: COM+ Event System, COM+ System Application, DCOM Server Process Launcher, and Remote Procedure Call (RPC).

c. Confirm that the status of each service is Started.

Post your reply with more information to help you further on this issue.

Hi and many thanks for your response.

    The answer to your questions:

    1. I recently removed Rapport Trusteer following VSS problems.
    2. The error message appears as a single line entry on the events list each time I boot the PC from cold.
    3. Hi-Grade, it's an individual build machine. The processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU. 2.00 GB RAM. 32-Bit Operating System.
    4. No problems booting or running the the machine, it is in fact running much faster since performing item 1 above. The event error has occured three times in total, on different, non-consecutive days.

I've performed steps 1 & 2, however without knowing what the "required properties" I am unable to verify these are correct. Everything else looks OK.

On checking the Event Log Online Help it say to:

Note the details in the event message, and then report this internal error to Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS). For information about how to contact CSS, see Enterprise Support (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52267).  I've tried to report this error but haven't been able to find the Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS)....
