What kind of keys are the following under the windows registry  HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\楖敤䱯乁嘮䍌汐杵湩.1 and,

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\楖敤䱯乁嘮䍌汐杵湩.2

Can I be sure they are not a malware?

That is hilarious.  It's VLC Media Player.

If you lookup the registered application for the class id for 楖敤䱯乁嘮䍌汐杵湩.1 "{E23FE9C6-778E-49D4-B537-38FCDE4887D8}", the InprocServer32 the value is:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\axvlc.dll

If you lookup the registered application for the class id for 楖敤䱯乁嘮䍌汐杵湩.2 "{9BE31822-FDAD-461B-AD51-BE1D1C159921}", the InprocServer32 the value is:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\axvlc.dll

There's a post in VLC's forum saying it's fixed in a release from last August, however I just unistalled (the values were removed) and downloaded the latest version directly from SourceForge.  The values are still there.

What a pestle has to do with breast feeding I'll never know...

I must admit to chuckling at the Google translation :)

Bing's isn't as complete (or is bowdlerised!)

It'd be interesting to see the subkeys off that - it may give some clues as to what's happened.

Could someone in Microsoft elucidate? Keep the flippant replies to a minimum please....

It's not Microsoft's entry - so how would they clear that up any further?

Find someone who speaks whatever dialect of Chinese that may be...

You might *not* want to run it through Google Translate (I did) if you are easily offended (I'm not)
