Except for Excel file, could you open other office apps normally? Such as word.
I tested in Microsoft Teams Version 1.4.00.2879. It has no problem. If your version is not the latest one, please click your profile and choose Check for updates to manually update client.
Meanwhile, if your office has any update, please install the update and try again.
Besides, clear the client cache by deleting any files in the following folders:
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage
- %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp
If all the people in your organization have the same issue, contact the IT admin to check if there is any related error message in Health status of Microsoft Teams from Microsoft 365 admin center > Health > Service health.
