Hi

I have Windows 7 and got the following when trying to start my computer today:

“Windows is Loading Files”

“Startup Repair is checking your system for problems…”

“Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically”

I checked the drop down to view the problem details which are as follows:

Problem event name: StartupRepairOffline

Problem signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385

Problem signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385

Problem signature 03: unknown

Problem signature 04: 22

Problem signature 05: AutoFailover

Problem signature 06: 1

Problem signature 07: BadDisk

OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1

Locale ID: 1033

I’ve tried to start in Safe Mode or with Last Good Configuration from the Advanced Startup Options but selecting these just lead back to the Repair Message above.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Why would you want to repair the mbr if the disk is being reported as bad. You seem to be missing the issue here.

Because Windows can easily show this error while there is nothing physically wrong with the hard drive.  I'm trying to think of any windows error that can be displayed and has only *one* cause or alternate related issue...nope.  Can't think of one.  If it was that easy me and every other I.T. worker would be out of a job.
