Azure Migrate support for Ultra SSD disks

We are doing an Azure Assessment. We want to use a perfomance based assessment. A lot of servers are showing "One or more unsuitable disks". We know this is because the disks are consuming a lot of IO.

The documentation at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/troubleshoot-assessment#assessment-readiness-issues is stating

"Azure Migrate: Server Assessment currently doesn't support Ultra SSD disks,"

Does anyone know when support for Ultra SSD disks is added to Azure Migrate assessments?

    Hello @Marcel Nobel
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A community forum!

The support for ultra-disk in assessments is planned for early this year. Currently there is no workaround to accomplish this in Azure Migrate.

Would you be able to share the details of the customer, and a little more about the impact of the lack of the capability.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the answer.

We are starting a project to migrate a few of our customers to Azure (IaaS, lift and shift). We use Azure migrate to assess the server requirements. We don't want to migrate the server specs as-is. A lot of server are now running on extremely fast storage because of the application requirements.

Because we are in the start of the project we need to calculate the cost. Because ultra SSD is not available in Azure migrate we also use the Azure Pricing Calculator. So the impact is limited. But it would save us time to have ultra SSD in the Azure Migrate Assessment tool.
