Error Accessing System Registry

Anonymous

I am trying to install a program but everytime I insert the disk and click "run" a box pops up saying "error accessing the system registry." How can I fix this error?

I have installed the program before and then uninstalled it because I didn't need it but now I need it so I don't know if I messed something up when I uninstalled it.

Any help would be great!

It is Smart Suite and I know it's ancient, seriously ancient. I actually have MS Office but there is a program that someone from my company made in Lotus Smart Suite that I have no choice but to use.

Anyway, I got it all installed so thanks for your help!!

Lotus is the manufacturer - it's probably either Ami Pro or Smart Suite.

You need to launch the installer by right-clicking on it, and selecting Run as Administrator.

It does run in Win7 - but you may have to use compatibility mode for XP.

You would probably be better to install something like OfficeLibre and use that, if you don't want to pay for MS Office - the Lotus software is really ancient  now, and is not aupported by many things.

It's called Lotus and it's a program that I use to type up documents in a specific format, it's an older program, I don't really know the details, unfortuately. I know it's pretty old though.

You may have to be logged in as an admin to install it. Also, check your firewall/AV program settings to see if it is disallowing registry access.
