Powerpoint will no longer Open in the App from Onedrive

I've been opening my powerpoint presentations by clicking Open in the App. Suddenly when I do that it asks for my Microsoft password, which it has never done before. After I enter my password i get a message that says: Sorry, we couldn't open 'https://d.docs.live.net/7b1bb6ed7eb2b6ad/TSS - All Docs/Module 2/TSS - M2V5n.pptx'.

    According to the URL, do you use OneDrive (Personal) Online?
    Please check whether this issue occur with OneDrive client.

    Could you please take a screenshot of this Microsoft password windows?
    Please not do not enter any information of your account, just keep the box blank.
    Generally, when the question involves the account and password, you may go to Credential Manager, and delete the realted credentials under Web Credentials and Windows Credentials.

    Do all the presentations or some specific presentations could not be opend via PowerPoint desktop app from OneDrive?

    • It's recommended to check other Office files, such as Word documents.
    • Please open PowerPoint desktop clients first, then choose a presentation and click “Open in the App” for a test.
    • I suggest you reset IE broswer to reset some broswer settings.
      You nay also change the broswer to check this issue.
    • I also suggest you go to Start menu > Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose default apps by file type > .pptx, make sure PowerPoint is the default app for this file type.
