Hello all,

Does running this command line script:

pushd "%~dp0"
dir /b %SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\*Hyper-V*.mum >c:\users\public\hyper-v.txt
for /f %%i in ('findstr /i . c:\users\public\hyper-v.txt 2^>nul') do dism /online /norestart /add-package:"%SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\%%i"
del c:\users\public\hyper-v.txt
Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:Microsoft-Hyper-V -All /LimitAccess /ALLpause

which allows the Hyper-V feature to be enabled in Windows 10 Home BOX breaks Windows 10 Home BOX EULA (or other terms of use) version from 1st of Feb 2021?
Also, if you run the aforementioned script, enable Hyper-V feature and then use Hyper-V on Windows 10 Home BOX, then do you break Windows 10 Home BOX EULA (or other terms of use) version from 1st of Feb 2021?

Regards,
Dawid Garus

    Hi,

The Hyper-V role cannot be installed on Windows 10 Home.

Please check the following article for detailed information:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/hyper-v-on-windows/quick-start/enable-hyper-v
    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,

Thank you for your answer, but it is factually incorrect. You can enable Hyper-V on Windows 10 Home using only files and software that is installed with Windows 10 Home system.
My question is: if you run the aforementioned script, enable Hyper-V feature and then use Hyper-V on Windows 10 Home BOX, then do you break Windows 10 Home BOX EULA (or other terms of use) version from 1st of Feb 2021?

Although you have enabled Hyper V on Windows 10 Home with some non-official methods, I'd like to say from official articles, Hyper V is not supported on Windows 10 Home. So, I think it breaks Windows 10 Home BoX EULA.

    Thanks for your time!

In General as Explained by the Other People, Enabling Hyper-V for Hosting would not be Possible without bypassing a Limitation which then should break the EULA. However i think that Management can be done on a Home System. Since, for Example a person could edit something from Home. Then you would have to get the Management Tools from a Windows Workstation Pro or Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 Standard or the RSAT(Remote Server Administration Tools) from Microsoft.
    Hosting is probably a no-go
