Scrambled Video

For five months I have had the same problem. After much research, I still cannot figure the answer... so here I am, hoping one of you knowledgeable and very helpful folks can help. :)

Uploaded an MPEG4 camera video on Windows Live Movie Maker. Created a fabulous movie with a song added. Converted the video to .WMV. The problem is when I play the video after conversion. The "still" photos and music work perfectly but the video itself is completely scrambled. I've tried so many different venues and also saving the video in different conversion options. No matter what I do, the video will not play properly. Have any of you heard of this? I hope so because I need some help. It's a great video and means a lot to us. I just want to be able to watch it and share it. Thank you so much! Looking forward to hearing from any of you! :)

PS... The finished video ONLY can be viewed in the Windows Live Movie Maker, doesn't matter what I convert it to.

If you have already started a project with a mpeg4 file, it won't automatically pick up the converted .wmv file in its place.  So you'll have to recreate the project.

Thank you! I will try that later this afternoon and let you know how it worked. I do have a "SoThink Video Converter." Editing the video in WLMM after conversion doesn't set it back to a project file? I'll try it.

Try converting the *source* video file *before* you edit it in WLMM.

Convert the mpeg4 video file to .wmv format (using something like Freemake Video Converter, or other options you might find via your favorite search engine).  Then go in and edit that file in Windows Live Movie Maker (add the song, still photos, etc.).
