MS TEAMS Username not searchable

Question

While signed in to TEAMS, I do a search for my username. My search does not find any matches. What am I missing?

Can others find you on teams?

I also cannot find myself from the search, but my colleague and I can find each other on Teams Search.

I suppose this is by design.

This is controlled in the Admin center. Please check with your IT admin to ensure your Display name is set properly.

Make sure you and your users aren't using the top search bar to look up users

Use the "New Chat" button and the to: field when needing to reach out to users
