My SCCM management point has a growing backlog in the outboxes folder. When I pull up "All Status Messages for a Specific System" for the MP, I see no new real messages. The status message files are supposed to automatically copy files from the MP "d:\SMS\MP\OUTBOXES\statemsg.box\" folder to \site server \SMS_xxx\inboxes\auth\statesys.box\incoming\". The permissions on the folders and shares look fine, and the MP is in the local admin and SMS_SiteServerToSiteSystemConnection_xxx local groups on the site server. Also, the site server computer account is still in the MP's local admin group. what i can troubleshoot more ?

    @haZ

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

    When I pull up "All Status Messages for a Specific System" for the MP, I see no new real messages.

    1.Did we check the statmgr.log on the site server side? This statmgr.log records the writing of all status messages to the database. The state messages will process into the database to complete the workflow after arriving at the management point are processed into .smx files by the MP Relay component, and put into the auth\statesys.box\incoming folder on the site server.
    Please refer to this Microsoft detailed state messaging article for more information:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/mem/configmgr/state-messaging-description#understanding-state-messaging

    2.We could also check the SMSProv.log on the server side to see if any issues run the SQL queries to find status messages.
    For more details, please refer to this troubleshooting article.

    Have a good day!

    i guess someone messed with the inboxes permissions on site server trying to modify some changes .
    this error Waiting for SMS_INBOX_MANAGER to create the "Status Manager" inbox. The operating system reported error 5: Access is denied. is on SMSprov.log .
    is there a way to restore the permissions on inboxes folder ?

    A Site Reset should solve the problem and put all the permission back the way they should be.

    Thanks for the answer , i managed to add all access back but now the error is :

    Cannot copy D:\SMS\MP\OUTBOXES\ddr.box\9KYPJ14Y.DDR to \XXXX\SMS_KK1\inboxes\auth\ddm.box\ur3d4183.__M, Win32 error = 64

    Cannot move \xxxxx\SMS_KK1\inboxes\auth\sinv.box\W18DNPHM.__M to \xxxxx\SMS_KK1\inboxes\auth\sinv.box\W18DNPHM.SID, Win32 error = 0

    and some files are being copied while the others are copied but with 0 KB . my dataldr folder is full , sinv , statmsgs , etc ... !

    im suspecting something is blocking on the network or firewall ...
